Obituary for F. Eloise Hopton

F. Eloise Hopton
Frances Eloise Hopton, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2018 at Tel Hai Retirement Community, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased in 2015 by her beloved husband, A. Kenneth Hopton.
Born on June 11, 1932, in Thorndale, PA, Eloise was the daughter of the late Ashton and Elizabeth (Holbrook) Marshman. A 1950 graduate of S. Horace Scott High School, Eloise married Kenny, her high school sweetheart, and raised their four daughters. After many years at home, she returned to work as a bank teller at the former Industrial Valley Bank where she worked until her retirement. Eloise was a life-long member of Thorndale United Methodist Church.
Above all, Eloise's greatest joy was her family. She was tireless and generous with her time and love. Despite her health challenges later in life, Eloise's loving heart and caring spirit were evident to all who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted daughters: Judith (Maurice) Hare, Nancy (David) Hemberger, Brenda Hopton and Diane Hopton. Eloise cherished the times she had with her grandchildren: Marissa (Abdul) Ouaddafi, Kenneth (Anne) Shepherd, Michael Poltrone, Jr, Jean (Brad) Fox, Megan Hare, and Daniel Hemberger. In November 2017 she was predeceased by her dear grandson, Andrew Shepherd. Eloise was blessed with six great grandchildren: Camren and Colin Shepherd, Sabrina and Marwan Ouaddafi, and Gavin and Natalie Fox. She will be dearly missed by her sister, Alice (the late Claire) Leonard, brother, Bruce (Maureen) Marshman, and many nieces, nephews, and their families. She was preceded in death by her siblings: Elva (James) McQueen, Janet (Ronald) Brinton, William (Betty) Marshman, Ashton (Thelma) Marshman and Patricia (Richard) Patton.
The family is grateful for the cards and visits that Thorndale Church faithfully provided over the years. They also extend their heartfelt thanks to the Tel Hai staff for their many years of wonderful care and for the exceptional support from both Tel Hai and Compassus Hospice personnel during Eloise's final days.
Services will be held at the Harris Mountain Funeral Home, 1030 East Lincoln Highway, Coatesville, PA, on Saturday, February 17 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call from 9 a.m.-10:45 a.m. Burial will follow at Hephzibah Cemetery, Coatesville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Eloise's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association at 225 N. Michigan Ave. Floor 17 Chicago, IL 60601 or
