Margaret  Mowday (Johnston)
Margaret L. Mowday, 89, of Thorndale died Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Neighborhood Hospice, West Chester.
Margaret was the wife of Ernest L. Mowday, who preceded her in death in 1997.
Born in Chester County, she was the daughter of the late Harry R. and Anna Withrow Johnston.
Margaret was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and later in life was employed as a clerk at J. C. Penney.
Margaret was an active member of Thorndale United Methodist Church for over 50 years and a Sunday school teacher for over 30 years. She was a member of the Caln Privileged Citizens afternoon circle; she enjoyed doing arts and crafts, and traveling.
Surviving her are two sons, Ernest L. “Butch” Mowday, Jr. (Priscilla) and Douglas L. Mowday; two daughters, Gale A. Ritchie (Dennis) and Susan L. Mowday; three sisters, Doris Leslie, Kathryn Colyer and Betty Pavelik; a sister-in-law, Patsy Johnston; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Leslie and a brother, Harry Johnston.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 8, 2018
at Thorndale United Methodist Church, 3503 Lincoln Hwy., Thorndale where relatives and friends may call from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment will be in Forks of the Brandywine Cemetery, Glenmoore.
In her memory, contributions may be made to Thorndale United Methodist Church at the above address.
