Alan G. Garnett, 71, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Chestnut Hill Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Gina Garnett with whom he shared thirty-nine years of marriage.
Born in Coatesville, Al was the son of the late Fred T. and Jane E. Garnett. He was a graduate of CASH and the University of Delaware where he earned his degree in business/finance. Working in the steel industry, Al spent the bulk of his career managing the data processing operation.
Our beloved Al was such a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His love and thoughtfulness were ever abundant and he loved spending time with his family in every simple way. Al adored his precious Kelly and what a blessing it was to see the beautiful person within that she grew to be.
In his younger years, Al enjoyed playing softball and tennis, summers at the beach and numerous golf trips and outings. Golf became a lifelong passion and he loved spending time on the course, followed by the “19th hole” with his cherished friends.
In summary, Al thoroughly enjoyed LIFE and was the “Life of the Party.” He was adored and admired by so many and his legacy of everlasting love, unceasing kindness, genuine warmth and incredible sense of humor will forever remain in our hearts. Words cannot begin to express how very much we will miss him.
In addition to his wife, Al is survived by his daughter, Kelly Brightwell; son-in-law, Trever Brightwell; grandson, Brooks, and brother, Richard Garnett.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 4, 2024, at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 2835 Manor Rd., Coatesville, PA.
Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester, PA.
